Effective Microorganisms (EM-1®) has a variety of applications
In golf courses EM-1® is applied, decreasing the dependency on fungicides and insecticides by improving the overall health of the turf. This San Francisco golf course has been using EM-1® for over three years.

EM-1® helps keep growth of pathogens to a minimum in composts and also acts as an odor control agent. This Northern California compost facility notices an increase in beneficial fungi and more available nutrients than the control pile.

EM-1® controls odors in all forms of livestock operations. This 22,000 bird broiler farm in Texas has no detectable levels of ammonia or hydrogen sulfide.

In wastewater treatment, EM-1® reduces the need for various chemical inputs, controls odors, decreases sludge, and prevents infrastructure problems.

EM-1® is used to make a variety of other products. The main by-products of EM-1® are amino acids and antioxidants, making it a valuable component in dietary supplements.
